Privacy Policy
Effective date: {{EFFECTIVE_DATE}}
This privacy policy explains what information Ferryline Pest Control (“Ferryline”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit our website or call our phone number, how we use it and who we share it with. Ferryline Pest Control is operated by {{OPERATOR_NAME}}.
If you have questions, email {{CONTACT_EMAIL}}.
1. Information we collect
When you call us
– Your phone number (caller ID) and the date, time and length of the call
– A recording of the call (you hear a recording notice before the call connects)
– What you tell us on the call, such as the pest problem, your ZIP code, address, name and preferred appointment time
When you use our contact form or email us
– Your name, email address and phone number if you give it
– Anything you write in your message
When you browse the website
– Technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, the page that sent you to us, and the date and time of your visit
– Cookies and similar technologies used by our analytics tools ({{ANALYTICS_TOOLS}}). See section 6.
We do not ask for payment information on this website, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
2. How calls work on this site
When you call the number on this website:
- The call is handled by our phone service provider, {{PHONE_PROVIDER}}.
- You hear a short notice that the call is recorded.
- Your call is connected to an independent, licensed pest control company that serves your area, through a call-routing partner. Your caller ID is passed along so the company can call you back if the line drops.
- The pest control company answers, discusses your problem and, if you choose, books the service with you. That company is responsible for the inspection, treatment, pricing and any agreement you make with it.
We are paid a fee when a call is connected to a pest control company. You do not pay us anything.
3. How we use your information
- To connect your call to a pest control company that serves your ZIP code
- To check call quality and make sure calls are routed to the right place
- To resolve disputes about whether a call took place or was handled properly
- To reply to messages you send us
- To understand how people use the website and improve our pages and guides
- To protect the website against spam, fraud and abuse
- To meet legal obligations
We do not send marketing emails or texts, and we do not add your number to any marketing list.
4. Who we share information with
- Pest control companies. Your caller ID and the call itself go to the independent, licensed pest control company that answers your call. What they do with your information after that is covered by their own privacy policy.
- Our call-routing partner. The partner that routes calls to pest control companies receives call details (caller ID, time, length, ZIP code where available, and the recording) so it can route calls and confirm which calls were connected.
- Service providers. Companies that help us run the site and phone line, such as our phone service provider ({{PHONE_PROVIDER}}), web host, email provider and analytics provider. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- Legal reasons. If the law requires it, or to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others.
We do not sell your information to data brokers. Because we are paid when your call is connected to a pest control company, that connection may count as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under California law. See section 7 for your rights.
5. How long we keep information
- Call recordings and call records: {{RETENTION_PERIOD}}, then deleted, unless we need them longer to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation.
- Messages you send us: as long as needed to answer you, and no longer than 24 months.
- Analytics data: according to the retention settings of our analytics tools.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use {{ANALYTICS_TOOLS}} to see which pages people visit and how they find us. These tools use cookies or similar technologies and may collect your IP address and device information. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. To opt out of Google Analytics, you can use Google’s browser add-on.
Do Not Track: our site does not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of sale or sharing where the law requires it.
7. Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it and who we shared it with
- Delete personal information we hold about you, with some legal exceptions
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
- Not be treated differently for using any of these rights
To make a request, email {{CONTACT_EMAIL}} with the subject line “Privacy request” and the phone number or email address you used with us. We will confirm your request and respond within 45 days. You can also use an authorized agent.
To opt out of having future calls connected or recorded, do not call the number on this site. Once a call has been connected to a pest control company, ask that company directly to delete your details, and email us so we can delete our records.
8. Security
We use reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure connections (HTTPS) on our website and access controls on our phone and email accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Links to other websites
Our pages link to other websites, such as the California Structural Pest Control Board. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
